The NBA Is Hating On Kobe
by Dmitry

Race 2 The MVP

So the Cavs have swept the season series against the Lakers, and LeBron now sits comfortably atop the "Race To The MVP" standings. Fair enough. What's weird, though, is how much NBA.com is rubbing it in!

Harsh!

In case it wasn't clear the first time...

Come on! I can understand seeing Kobe hate on Slam Dumb, but on NBA.com it's a little unusual. Plus, if they're going to take a page from our book, they should do it properly:

Sure, LeBron is still the league MVP; nothing has changed since last year except that he's, as always, gotten a little bit more efficient. But I still find it strange that the R2MVP is going so nuts about these two Lakers-Cavs games. Last season, the Lakers won both matchups but LeBron still walked away with the MVP award. There's no need to pretend that these two games between Kobe and LeBron really matter.

Today LeBron emerged as the clear winner in a matchup against the Thunder's Kevin Durant. But somehow I don't foresee a lot of headlines on NBA's site along the lines of "Forget About Durant" or "Durant Ought to Reflect on His Own Ineptitude and Weep Deeply." Maybe NBA.com wants to generate more hatemail from Kobe and Laker fans?

In other news, we've got a new COMIC for you all, featuring two of our favorite gunmen.
